Arthritis Health Tips

Are you suffering from arthritis? The next 4 tips can help you ease your pain.

Tip 1: Make Sure you Really Have Osteoarthritis

Does your pain come from osteoarthritis? That question needs an answer before treatment can take place. Many doctors will quickly say that the aging process is degenerating a person's bones. That is a mistake. The aging process, in fact, has nothing to do with the causes of osteoarthritis. There is only one way to properly diagnose osteoarthritis, and that is done by a CT scan.

Tip 2: Searching For Just Arthritis Pain Relief is a Mistake

Since doctors can be very quick to address joint pain, they will normally tell you to take a NSAIDS (Advil, Mortrin, Asprin,etc.). These medications will only give you temporary pain relief. They can also cause a vast number of undesirable side effects, ranging from ulcers to liver damage.

Tip 3: Keep Your Weight in Balance

This is a difficult thing to approach for some people, but it is a key to understanding one of the best ways to slow down the onset of osteoarthritis. If you weight is affecting your joints, you need to keep your weight within normal ranges. If you are not already making efforts to watch your weight, try your best to engage in exercise that will assists in losing weight.

Food can be one of the culprits involved with arthritis as well. Some of those types of foods would be: suar, citrus, red meat, diary products, white potatoes, etc. Make a note when you eat these type of foods, if your arthritis pain worsens within 24 hours, it is a good bet to say that food aggravates your arthritis. Also, stay away from additives in ice cream, candy and soda pop.

Tip 4: Fight Arthritis Through Proper Movement

In your body, there are at least 143 differenct joints that are in motion every day. Many doctors, once again, diagnose incorrectly. They say "take it easy on your joints", in other words they are really saying they don't want you to exercise the affected area. These doctors' intentions may be good but the advice may not be great. The best thing you can do is to try and keep the painful joints in motion. Even the lightest of exercise can go a long way to maintaining joint mobility.
